  Combatting Violence
Sex Abuse and Trafficking Prevention and Gender Relations Development Program

In 1992 when NUS started women’s empowerment and women and child rights program, we thought that, women’s rights could be establish by adopting only “Women in Development (WID)” approach. But we found that, the women who involved in income generating activities had no right to their earnings. Their husbands took away their money and if they protested the husbands bit them. Children and women are being sexually abused and trafficked. So we have started addressing those problems and turned to involve the males in our activities.
